LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold a convention and oath-taking ceremony at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday. During the convention, PTI Central Chief Organiser Saif Ullah Niazi will administer the oath to 11,000 party office-bearers from across central Punjab.

Office-bearers from all districts, tehsils, cities and neighbourhood and village councils will take an oath of their offices. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, PTI Central Punjab President Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry said Prime Minister Imran Khan has a goal to make his party an institution.

Following the event, the party organisation will be completed in the provincial capital, Sahiwal and Gujranwala, he added.

Imran opts for ‘simple’ oath-taking ceremony, not inviting ‘foreign celebrities’

“Our mission is to disseminate the message of the PTI to every corner of the province,” he further said. “With regard to this, the party is working to strengthen its position in central Punjab.”

He maintained that the party leadership will work in coordination with local representatives to resolve public issues. “These organisations will work as a bridge between the government and the public.”

Chaudhry claimed that the PTI had got the government in very difficult conditions. “The government took around one and a half years to bring the economy on track.”

To rein in inflation and unemployment now the government is taking steps such as Sehat Sahulat Card, Hunarmand Naujawan and Kamyab Naujawan loan scheme, he elaborated. “Planning is also underway to solve the problems of farmers.”
