Boy killed, 12 injured by stray dogs
Doctors say Shoaib’s neck was ruptured and, as a result, he died on the spot
BAHAWALPUR:
A 9-year-old boy died and two children along with 10 other persons were injured after being bitten by stray dogs in a day in Khanpur and Bahawalpur.
Sources revealed that the boy, Shoaib, was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries after a dog bit him at Raman Phatak in the morning.
The doctors of Victoria Hospital said Shoaib’s neck was ruptured and, as a result, he died on the spot.
Stray dogs have also become a source of terror in Khanpur and adjoining rural areas.
Hospital sources revealed that a child attacked by a dog had wounds on his face, while another had suffered injuries on a leg and arms.
Reportedly, the administration has failed to eliminate dogs from the area despite making efforts for the purpose. The municipal corporation’s spokesperson stated that a campaign against stray dogs was underway and dozens of dogs had been killed.
