BAHAWALPUR:
A 9-year-old boy died and two children along with 10 other persons were injured after being bitten by stray dogs in a day in Khanpur and Bahawalpur.

Sources revealed that the boy, Shoaib, was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries after a dog bit him at Raman Phatak in the morning.

The doctors of Victoria Hospital said Shoaib’s neck was ruptured and, as a result, he died on the spot.

Stray dogs have also become a source of terror in Khanpur and adjoining rural areas.

Hospital sources revealed that a child attacked by a dog had wounds on his face, while another had suffered injuries on a leg and arms.

Reportedly, the administration has failed to eliminate dogs from the area despite making efforts for the purpose. The municipal corporation’s spokesperson stated that a campaign against stray dogs was underway and dozens of dogs had been killed.
