The group received a warm welcome upon arrival at Quetta’s Sariyab Road where Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ahmed Nawaz Baloch and Balochistan National Party-Awami (BNP-A) leader Dr Nashnas Lehri were among a large number of peope who showered petals on them.
“The aim of the walk was to enlighten the younger generation regarding the scourge of drug addiction which has been destroying our country and province”, said group leader Sajjad Baloch.
“We have conveyed a clear message to the provincial and federal governments as well as to tribal notables that Balochistan’s young generation is against the drug culture”, he said. He also urged the government to join hands with them to eliminate the drug menace from the province.
The walk participants will now set up a two-day camp at the Quetta Press Club to draw the government’s attention toward the problem of drug addiction.
MPA Ahmed Nawaz Baloch pledged his full support for the anti-drug walk participants.
