Two prisoners die in hospital
Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem
LAHORE:
Two prisoners who had fallen ill in Camp Jail have died in hospital. The bodies of the prisoners have been sent for post-mortem. Ghulam Hussain, 35, was shifted from Liaquatabad Police Station to Camp Jail on January 21.
He was charged with drug trafficking. Camp Jail Superintendent Asad Javed Warraich said the accused was a drug addict and was shifted to the hospital after his condition deteriorated. The hospital staff tried to treat Hussain but he died.
The other prisoner, Rafaqat Masih, 34, was shifted to the jail from Gujarpura Police Station on October 1. He was admitted to hospital due to weakness but later shifted to Services Hospital in critical condition, where he died. Superintendent Warraich said the bodies had been shifted to the morgue for post-mortem.
