Police say the child was thrown into the canal by his paternal uncle

CHICHAWATNI: A six-year-old boy’s body was retrieved from a canal on Saturday by rescue workers. The body was shifted to a hospital.

Police said the child was thrown into the canal by his paternal uncle and they had arrested the accused.

The minor, identified as Ahsan, was a resident of Ada Gambhir, in Yousufwala. Reportedly, he was thrown into the canal by his uncle while he was playing with him. The body was found floating towards the Commerce College.

As per sources, Ahsan’s uncle took him out of the house on the pretext of buying food and playing with him. He strangled Ahsan and threw him into the canal. The parents of Ahsan kept searching for him for two days, but they were not able to find him.

Police took physical remand of the accused from a court after arresting him.
