The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday raided the business offices of the Sharif family in Lahore.
During the raid, the accountability watchdog confiscated various company documents, computer hard drives and laptops. According to NAB’s spokesperson, the offices were used to run benami (anonymous) companies of the Sharif family and were being used to launder money.
Confirming the raid, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said “NAB officials raided 55 K and 91 F offices in Model Town.”
"Imran and his government's tools of political victimisation must now tell the nation what was recovered in these attacks on Sharif family's private business offices," said the PML-N spokesperson.
"Such harassing political victimisation has been going on for the past 18 months," she added.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been diagnosed with a complicated coronary artery disease responsible for the constant drop in his platelet count, is currently under treatment in London.
The Sharif brothers left Pakistan on November 20, 2019 – four days after the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the federal government to remove Nawaz’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) for four weeks.
The former premier's mother is scheduled to leave for London on Saturday as she wishes to be present during the PML-N supremo’s cardiac intervention.
According to the Sharif family, air travel was difficult for Begum Shamim Akhtar, as she is almost 90 years old and unwell, but “she wanted to be with Nawaz during his treatment”.
This development is being played up within PML-N circles to further put pressure on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, as the political party also wants permission for Nawaz’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, to travel abroad to be with her father.
Accountability court exempts Nawaz from appearing on medical grounds
Shehbaz recently revealed that doctors have declared an ’emergency’ and would be performing an angiography on the former prime minister soon.
Earlier on Friday, an accountability court accepted Nawaz’s petition seeking exemption from appearing before the court in Chaudhry Sugar Mills(CSM) case on medical grounds.
After seeing the medical certificate, the accountability court judge exempted the former premier from appearing before the court and adjourned the hearing till February 28.
