Snapchat introduces mental health tool
App will prompt users with helpful resources when they search for topics like anxiety, depression, suicide
Popular social media platform announced that it is launching a search tool called Here For You, aimed at providing “safety resources” from mental health experts.
The app will prompt users with helpful resources when they search for topics like anxiety, depression, suicide, and bullying.
"Here For You, which will roll out in the coming months, will show safety resources from local experts when Snapchatters search for certain topics, including those related to anxiety, depression, stress, grief, suicidal thoughts, and bullying," said Snapchat in a blog post.

"Privacy, safety, and ensuring the well-being of our community are deeply rooted in our values and product philosophy. Snapchat was built with privacy at its core — starting with ephemerality — and designed to let people be themselves, without the pressure of being judged by others."
The verge reports that around 90% of the users are between the age of 13 to 24-year-olds who are targets of bullying and go through mental health problems.
