GUJRANWALA: Five men were arrested on Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting and killing a 16-year-old boy in Gujranwala. Jinnah Colony resident Waqas was arrested by a police team formed on directives of the regional police officer to investigate the case of the missing boy, Muhammad Faraz. Faraz, a 10th class student, had gone missing on July 2. During interrogation, police said, Waqas confessed to killing Asif after raping the boy with assistance from Muddassar Arshad, Zeeshan, Amir Sohail and an unidentified man. He said the five of them had kidnapped Faraz and taken him to Arshad’s house where they intended to rape him. He said they killed the boy when he started shouting to resist Arshad’s attempt to sexually assault him. He had already raped the boy, he told the police. He said they had dumped the body in Upper Chenab Canal. The body was later recovered by the police.
