The commission has set up around 5,573 stations for counting of votes. For ensuring transparency in the elections, the commission has invited around 700 Azerbaijanis from around the world, including Pakistan.
As many as 1,637 candidates – including 357 women – will be competing for 125 seats of Milli Majlis (National Assembly).
As part of its measures, the commission has installed web cameras in around thousand stations.
The parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in the end of this year but on the demand of the ruling party, President Ilham Aliyev dissolved the parliament on December 2, 2019 and announced to hold snap polls.
All political parties and candidates were given 23 days for election campaigning, which will end on February 8. Economic, judicial and social reforms were part of the campaigns of many political parties.
