Addressing the newly hired sanitary workers, Deputy Commissioner Aamer Khattak said that it was a step towards making the ‘city of saints’ neat and clean. He said the district administration was determined to make the green and clean Pakistan initiative successful.
He said that more workforce had been required after the city was declared a metropolitan area. He added that new machinery had been purchased for the company. “A strategy has also been devised to improve the cleanliness system in rural areas,” said the DC.
He maintained that the new workforce would help to clean the urban areas of the city.
MWMC introduced second cleanliness shift
MPA Waseem Khan Badozai said that the company should make a plan for the recruitment of more sanitary workers. “Cleanliness system will improve through new machinery and workforce,” he said.
MPA Wasif Raan said that there was a need to outsource the sanitary system in town committees. He remarked that public representatives and the district administration had been working as a team for green and clean Multan.
MPA Qasim Langah said that there was a dire need to improve the cleanliness system in rural areas. He suggested that a plan should be devised to recruit the sanitation staff at the union council level.
MWMC Managing Director Nasir Shahzad Dogar and other officials were also present.
