Proposals for 2020-21 budget, ADP discussed with elected representatives

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a detailed meeting with assembly members from Sargodha Division on Tuesday to review development projects and discuss problems faced by the legislators.
The chief minister reaffirmed his commitment to providing better facilities to the people while discussing the 2020-21 budget and proposed annual development programme (ADP).
While addressing the meeting, Buzdar said that priorities for the 2020-21 ADP would be set after consultation with members of the national and provincial assemblies.
He said the consultation process had already started in this regard.
“The development of backward areas is the first priority of the government. Many areas of Sargodha Division are, hitherto, behind in the development journey and the incumbent government will improve facilities in such areas,” the chief minister asserted.
Buzdar further said that the legislating process for the Thal University in Bhakkar would be completed soon, whereas a proposal to lift the ban on mining licences would be reviewed too.
The CM promised improvement in the health and educational facilities in the province.

He directed the departments concerned to purchase necessary equipment for the trauma centre in Sahiwal and ordered immediate recruitment of doctors.
“I have visited Khushab and found that there is a lack of civic amenities there.”
To improve the situation, provision of necessary facilities will be ensured in the city, including that of waste disposal, he said.
He disclosed that special cancer wards would be set up in some DHQ hospitals in south Punjab whereas doctors and paramedical staff would be hired in Bhakkar, Mianwali, Khushab and other areas to overcome their shortage.
National Assembly Members Amir Sultan Cheema, Umer Aslam Khan, Malik Muhammad Ahsan Ullah Tiwana, Muhammad Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel and Muhammad Afzal Khan, Punjab Ministers Sardar Sabtain Khan, Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi and others attended the meeting.
