Arjun Kapoor pens heartfelt note to late mom on birthday

He took to Instagram to wish his mother a happy birthday

Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor has made it a sort of tradition to pay tribute to his late mother every year on her birthday.

Son of Boney Kapoor and his first wife Mona Shourie, Arjun took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note to Mona on the eve of her birthday. Directly addressing his mother, Arjun wished his mother a happy birthday.

"Happy birthday Mom, love you. I hope you're smiling right now where ever you are," wrote Arjun, posting a picture from her last birthday that they got to spend together. "This picture was the last birthday we had together and I just assumed that we would have many more," he lamented.

Putting his feelings straight into words, Arjun also shared how he was and is expected to be strong and that he tries as much as he can - losing his mother at 25 dealt a huge blow to him.

"They all expect you to figure it all out with your life taken away from you. I was supposed to be sorted and what not... but I’m not strong enough on most days. I just ride it out," wrote Arjun in the lengthy caption.

The two shared a close mother-son bond, and losing her right before his debut release took a toll on Arjun who was, at the time, estranged with his father. The family, however, is now close-knit with Arjun back on good terms with his father and his half sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
