Hollywood is notorious for short-lived celebrity marriages, but blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson's separation from husband Jon Peters may have just set a new record. Twelve days after tying the knot during a secret ceremony in Malibu, the newlyweds have decided to call it quits.

"I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union. We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another," the Baywatch star revealed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Life is a journey and love is a process," Anderson continued. "With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process. Thank you for respecting our privacy."

Anderson and the film producer first dated more than 30 years ago after meeting at the Playboy Mansion in the '80s. Peters proposed to her back then, but she turned him down due to their 22-year age difference.

“There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but for 35 years, I’ve only wanted Pamela," the 74-year-old previously told THR. "She makes me wild, in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”

A few days after the duo's wedding, Anderson revealed more details of their love story on social media. "She remembers him telling her 'in 30 years, our age difference won't mean so much,'" she tweeted, adding that he proposed again on January 20, 2020, and she accepted.

"They belong together," she concluded. "A great Hollywood romance."
