LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has directed the authorities concerned to make Multan a city of trees.

The country’s top judge passed the direction while visiting the Multan Children Park on Saturday. Around 100,000 trees should be planted in Multan to beautify the city, CJP Gulzar Ahmed ordered. He also directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to improve the state of the children park.

However, the Chief Justice Pakistan also expressed displeasure over the current condition of the park, adding it is only the sluggishness and apathy of the concerned authorities that had hindered its improvement.

Numerous billboards in the city and the pollution destroyed the beauty of the park, the CJP remarked.

The condition of the parks must be improved so that the families and children could be provided a healthy atmosphere, he said.
