ISLAMABAD:
As Kashmiris continue to brave a brutal curfew for five months, an exhibition of photographs showing the atrocities being committed by Indian forces and the squalid conditions of locals was displayed at the National Art Gallery of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Parliamentary secretary on Kashmir Sobia Kamal Khan. The exhibition was arranged by PNCA to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The exhibition is expected to continue until Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
Sobia said that the Indian forces are committing unprecedented human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to subjugate Kashmiri people.
“The whole world, especially Pakistanis, are sporting their Kashmiri brothers in their struggle for self-determination,” she said, adding, “The entire world is condemning the Indian policy against minorities.”
The Kashmiris have been under curfew for more than five months and are being deprived of basic human necessities, Sobia added.
The parliamentary secretary said that these photographs narrate the story of Kashmiri people who have sacrificed their lives, especially their youth, for their independence and right of self-determination.
She hoped that the world will help stop Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.
A visitor said that the impact of the photographs is visible from the faces of viewers as they are condemning the brutal actions taken by Indian forces.
The exhibition aims to highlight the miseries and catastrophic life being lived by Kashmiris and to mobilise the international community to play their role to provide future to the Kashmiri people.
