Speaking to the media in Karachi, MQM leader Raza Haroon said the party was considering four names for leader of the Opposition.
Sources have revealed that the names of MQM leaders Raza Haroon, Faisal Sabzwari and Syed Sardar Ahmed are being considered for the post.
The MQM had parted ways with the government, on both the federal and provincial level, after the postponement of elections for Azad Jammu & Kashmir LA-30 and LA-36 seats.
MQM’s provincial governor, provincial and federal ministers had tendered their resignations but the PPP persuaded its coalition partner to bring the governor back to his post.
Governor Sindh, Inshratul Ebad recently returned to Pakistan after MQM chief Altaf Hussain asked him to take back his resignation and resume his duties.

The rule for the majority party in an underdeveloped county is: it can choose to sit anywhere – whether on the treasury benches or on opposition benches.
On the other hand the rule for the minority party is: it has no choice, except to look toward the majority party.
But in United Kingdom after 13 years of Labour Party’s Rule, there is a power sharing deal at the Westminster between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats thus forming the first coalition government after the World War-II.
In his speech after becoming the Prime Minister of coalition government, Mr. David Cameron said: Historic Conservative-led coalition government will be united and provide “strong and stable leadership”.
Return of Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan is an indication that in Sindh Province, there is a leadership of MQM (Mr. Altaf Hussain) backed by Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, Co-Chairman of PPP and the President of Pakistan, which makes the “strong and stable leadership” in the centre as well as in the province.
Karachities, time to envy Turkey. It has 16 decentralized metropolises of which the largest is still smaller than Karachi! http://citiwire.net/post/2167/ Istanbul — A Megalopolis That’s Beginning to Work Please note in 1980's, the largest Turkish cities changed their unitary structure to a decentralized structure. Turkish Government did this because they wanted to join EU and Europe had started a policy of urban decentralization. See: “Studies towards restructuring local administrations launched in 1980s in Turkey gained an impetus with the adoption of European Charter of Local Self-Government in 1988. In this context, policies directed towards the establishment of Metropolitan Municipalities (MMs) and delegation of provincial duties and authorities to local administrations by central government started to be implemented. The number of metropolitan municipalities initially established in three biggest cities of Turkey with the Law no: 3030 and dated 27 June 1984 reached to sixteen in 2007.” http://www.environmental- auditing.org/Portals/0/ AuditFiles/Turkeyseng_ MetroMunic.pdf COORDINATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS BY METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITIES
@Lobster President, Governor and Speakers are supposed to be neutral and without supporting their own Party politics.
August seat of Governor is also a non-political seat with no authority in his hands. It is symbolic position.
If the government has opted of Dr. Ishratul Ibad, it is good gesture. these proves that he performed his past duties honestly without siding his own party. In fact he played a major role for promoting peace in Karachi and doing patch up work b/w ANP and MQM.
Let him be on this August seat for the cause of democracy.

Now the opposition should act for the betterment of the sindh province and play its part to correct the wrongs of government!
It is good that Governor Ebad is back in office. He has performed very well and it is good for the province and for bridging the gap between the PPP and the MQM that he stays in the office.
@Lolster:
Try to dig the fact , Governor from the majority unit of Sindh's urban population , PPP or for that matter any party cannot do without this . Zardari got it right , others should too ( hope so ) .
Governor from opposition! wow ! "Kia yeh khula tizaad nahin"
