One of the first things that President Donald Trump did after taking the oath this week was to pardon American patriots or January 6 rioters, depending on which party supporter you ask. It was quite a controversial move but Trump has never been shy of doing controversial things. But as is the norm in American politics, which not too many people like to point out; the Democrats do more controversial and harmful things than the Republicans, they just know the art of playing the propaganda much better than the Republicans. Biden, the outgoing president, before leaving The Oval Office issued a series of pardons, which are far more controversial and unpopular than the ones Trump issued but he did it with skill, finesse, cunning, and a smile. Classic democrat.
Biden pardoned his son after the noise of the reelection died down and when it was not going to hurt the election campaign. It was this looking out for family members, which Biden and his liberal media goons had been making noise about Trump back in 2020. Today, there is not much noise about it. Biden also pardoned Dr Faucci and Mark Miley right when the noise of Trump taking over was getting louder. But here is the real disturbing part; Biden gave the kind of preemptive pardon to both these men, which will prevent them from prosecution that will be initiated against them in future. That is unheard of even in dictatorial regimes. It is literally a stubborn dismissal of the American justice system. Like I said, the Democrats do more harmful stuff, they just successfully label themselves as the good guys. And they never forget to smile even right after they kill innocent people.
But let us think about these pardons one more time. Trump pardoned a bunch of men who had been lied to that the election was stolen. They did whatever they did based on lies they were told. Dr Faucci lied to the American people everything there was about the Covid-19 pandemic during those days. In the end, two old white males decided how justice should be served for lying to the American people. And as always, lies go unpunished in American politics.
I remember recently giving some advice to a Pakistani friend who had moved to America. I was telling him how in Pakistan, people judge others negatively if they drink, do gambling, have a girlfriend, or miss Friday prayers, but don't frown much if they are habitual liars. In America, nobody cares or judges you if you have a girlfriend or if you gamble or drink. However, if they realise that you lie habitually, then you are a hateable character here. The lens with which your character is judged is different. Americans hate lies. They don't care about your vices. But now I am not too sure if what I told him was right.
I watched President Trump give his inaugural speech. I saw those emotionless faces of Biden and Kamala sitting nearby listening to Trump lie about many things. Kamala and Biden lied too. Their lies failed to convince the American people versus the lies that Trump told them. Presidents Clinton, Obama and Bush were sitting too. All professional liars and criminals. Bush lied about Iraq. Clinton lied about Monica Lewinsky. Obama was the worst of all in the crowd. The baddest liar. But there are no laws against presidents lying to the American people. Actually, the American people like a good whiff of lies as George Carlin once said. But it was Carlin who also said that if truthfulness was suddenly introduced into the political system, it would dismantle the entire facade.
I will point out one important nuance though; Biden's pardon shows a total cowardly persona. He played safe and he rescued his son. Trump's pardon shows the guy can man up. I know it sounds weird but think about it. He did it knowing he will take the heat for it for 4 years. He could have done it on his last day in office too. He didn't have to appease that white supremacist crowd. He is not running again.
