RAWALPINDI: There is no shortage of flour in Rawalpindi, declared Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Saifullah Dogar on Monday.

Refuting news about the shortage of flour, he said that flour mills in Rawalpindi are being provided with the official quota of 4,005 metric tonnes of wheat daily.

Moreover, to avert any crisis and to control prices of flour, the district authorities have set up over a 100 fair price shops and 39 truck-points across the district from where people can easily buy a 20-kilogramme bag of flour at the subsidised rate of Rs800, he said.

Talking to the media at his office on Monday, Dogar said that the impression that Rawalpindi was facing a shortage of flour or was facing a crisis was completely wrong as there was no such shortage.

The district administration has fixed the price of 20kg bag at Rs805, and various teams have been set up to strictly implement it, he said.
