Dijkot SHO allegedly established nexus with drug dealers, other criminals

FAISALABAD: On the basis of corruption and alleged links with drug dealers, Dijkot Station House Officer (SHO) was suspended whereas 75 police personnel from the entire police station, including the Investigation in-charge, were transferred.

City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Chaudhry has appointed Sub-Inspector Rai Farooq as the new SHO Dijkot and Inspector Tariq Aziz as the investigation in-charge.The sources revealed to The Express Tribune that new staff was being deployed for the police station.

The order, issued by the CPO, stated that Dijkot SHO Inspector Rana Mohammad Asim Khan allegedly had established nexus with drug dealers because of which he did not initiate action against drug smugglers. Reportedly, there were serious complaints and allegations against the entire personnel of the police station including allegations of corruption.

Taking notice of the deteriorating law and order situation, the CPO changed Investigation In-charge Sub-Inspector Naeem Halimuddin, Sub-Inspector Ijaz, Sub-Inspector Ashraf and others.

The CPO also transferred seven havaldars, seven lady constables, three driver constables, 46 constables; an officer named Shahzad and deployed other employees in remote police stations as punishment.

The CPO has warned that strict action would be taken against them if any complaints are received regarding corruption or connection with drug dealers.
