The four-member bench issued the directive after the counsel for Imanae’s father pointed out that the doctor was absconding and the police had failed to track him down.The bench was hearing an appeal filed by the Doctors’ Hospital challenging an LHC order to insert Section 302 (premeditated murder) into the FIR.The bench summoned the investigation officer (IO) who informed the court that the absconding doctor had not been traced despite persistent police efforts. The IO also pointed out that he had submitted three challans before the court after completing case investigations. The child died at Doctors Hospital on November 29, 2009.
