‘We are ready to back Amir’

Squash federation to support Pakistan number two after his ban ends.

KARACHI:

The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is ready to support Amir Atlas’ career once again as the six-month ban on the Pakistan number two ended on Monday.

The PSF Secretary Irfan Asghar has said that the federation will be backing Atlas’ participation in the ongoing Malaysia Open. Asghar also said that the federation wanted to add Amir and his brother Danish to the squad for the World Team Championships to be held in Germany next month but the visa process for the duo would take over a month, so their inclusion is now impossible.

“Amir is one of our key players and we will be supporting him financially when he plays in international tournaments,” Asghar told The Express Tribune. “He can use the federation’s courts and facilities and we will always consider him for international events, but his participation in the team championship isn’t possible now.”
