Police register case for woman’s murder in Karachi

KARACHI: Surjani Town Police registered a murder case against four unidentified persons on the state’s behalf. A woman’s  decapitated body was found in a garbage dump on Monday.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased was later identified as Naeema Fatima, 53.

According to investigation police, Fatima divorced her husband, Irfan, 20 years ago. She married for the second time in 2013, following which she lived in Surjani Town until she divorced her second husband just three months into the marriage, the police said, adding that she had a daughter from her first husband. Besides, her daughter, who is married and lives in Liquatabad. The bereaved included four brothers and four sisters of the deceased, said police.

Meanwhile, Fatima’s brother told the police that she used to beg for money in the streets of Liaquatabad and was not in contact with any of her family members, including her daughter.

According to investigation police, a letter for giving the custody of the body to the heirs has been issued and the deceased’s family members have been instructed to contact the police for the purpose of investigation after burying the body.
