CDA seals 13 more commercial buildings

Authority seeks to implement building and zoning regulations

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed 13 more commercial buildings in different housing societies situated in Zone II and V of the city on account of violating Islamabad Building and Zoning Regulations 2005.

These operations were conducted by the Building Control Directorate –II with assistance of Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA). The Enforcement Directorate of the authority, Islamabad police and other formations concerned took part in the operation.

During these operations conducted on Thursday, teams of Building Control Directorate –II sealed five premises in Cabinet Division Employees Cooperative Housing Society which include Alpha Arcade, Friends Arcade, Waqar Arcade and Maryam Arcade located on the main roads of the society and building constructed on plot number 26 on the Principal Road of the society.

Similarly, two commercial premises including A&M Arcade and RP Advisor situated in Roshan Pakistan Housing Society were also sealed on violations of building and zoning regulations 2005. Moreover, the authority sealed six commercial buildings constructed on plot B-III, a building constructed on plot A VII, building on plot A VIII and another on plot A-IV.

The officials also locked up Pine Heights Apartment and a building constructed on plot XVI in Margalla View Housing Society for violating building and zoning regulations.

The sealing of the premises in continuation of the operation launched earlier this week was meant to ensure the enforcement of building and zoning regulations all over the city. The action was being taken against all those violators who have not yet complied with the instructions of the authority despite the lapse of sufficient time.
