HBL outclass KESC in football League

Win propels them to fifth spot, Afghan FC draw with PEL.

KARACHI:

HBL defeated KESC 2-1 at the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) while Afghan FC played out a goal-less draw against Pel in Quetta yesterday.

KESC started haphazardly, missing four chances at the goal in the first-half and also suffered a blow when striker Mohammad Aurangzeb was red-carded in the 31st minute.

After the dull first-half, KESC were put on the backfoot as Abdullah scored in the 79th minute after being awarded a penalty kick. HBL continued their scoring spree when Bilal Ahmed scored five minutes later as KESC trailed 2-0. With only a few minutes to go, KESC’s Akbar khan scored in the 88th minute but by then it was too late.

The win propelled HBL to the fifth spot with nine points after five matches, pushing KESC down to sixth place with eight points. KRL are the championship leaders with 13 points from five games.
