KARACHI: A man stabbed his stepmother and stepbrother to death on Saturday before fleeing from the spot. The motive behind the murders is said to be a property dispute.

According to Zaman Town Police Station SHO Rao Zakir, two bodies were found from a house near Coast Guard Chowrangi Sector B. He said that the deceased woman, identified as Akbar Jehan, 55, and her son Nisar Ahmed, 22, had been stabbed to death.

The police shifted the bodies to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The bodies were handed over to the family after completing medico-legal formalities.

SHO Zakir said that the accused, Farman, who is Jehan's stepson from her husband's second wife, had been involved in a property dispute with her after his father's death and he was demanding his share in the property. Farman had come to visit his stepmother on Saturday to sort out the matter but ended up engaging in an argument with her and his stepbrother. The argument escalated and he murdered both of them.
