Beautifully crooned by Siddharth Mahadevan, 'Nok Jhok' is a sweet song that echoes the sentiments of newfound love and puts Deepika and Vikrant Massey's chemistry on full display. Appearing alongside for the first time, the two have managed to hit a pretty good balance of romance against the serious backdrop of the film's premise.

The video accompanying the song shows the star duo hitting it off with each other through the course of their acquaintance. The two seem to embody the subtle and innocent romance that brewed between the real-life versions of their characters, Laxmi Agarwal and Alok Dixit.
The acid-attack survivor found love with Dixit, a journalist and social media activist, after he rallied for victims of the crime.

'Nok Jhok' explores the complexities of a new love and how two people can overcome adversities and minor nok jhoks to ultimately end up with a smile.
However, the song is a far cry from the trailer and seems like a deliberate move to reveal the contrasts present within the film. In Chhapaak there is tragedy, but there’s also happiness that stems from it.
Padukone also shared the song on her Instagram saying, “Bigdi hui baat ko banata hai, aur ruthe hue ko manata hai pyaar (Love fixes things that seem broken and helps persuade an offended person).”

The film is slated to release on January 10, 2020 and will face Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in theaters, which is also releasing on the same day.
