Verdict proves judiciary’s autonomy: Naqvi
Says case should mention penalty for the judges who had approved his government
KARACHI:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi has said that the detailed verdict of former President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf's high treason case should mention the penalty for the judges, who had approved his government and the factors that led him to enforce martial law.
He added that the judiciary should have discussed the attempt of appointing an engineering officer as the Chief of Army Staff by Nawaz Sharif and declared it wrong, just like it has addressed the issue of the current COAS' extension in detail. He lauded the judiciary and said that the decision has proven the autonomy of the courts.
