Police Players: 8 volleyball players booked for fraud

FAISALABAD: Eight volleyball players of the police department were booked by the Kotwali police on charge of fraud and counterfeiting. The players allegedly submitted a letter to line officer Ejaz Husain, claiming that the Sports Board had approved their participation in a volleyball camp in Islamabad. The letter also asked that the line officer was required to foot the bill for the trip. The accused police officials took a one-month leave as a result of the letter and did not attend the volleyball camp. On verification, police officials discovered the letter to have been forged and Kotwali police registered a case against eight officials on the complaint of Husain. Police have launched an investigation but no arrest has been made as yet.
