ISLAMABAD: To keep the federal capital clean and green while preserving its natural beauty is the collective responsibility of all of its inhabitants.

This was stated by Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Naqvi on Sunday while addressing a volunteer team comprising students from different universities as they conducted a cleanup campaign along Trail-5 of the Margalla Hills National Park as part of the International Mountain Festival.

Volunteers picked litter from the frequently-visited track and collected large amounts of waste, including plastic bottles, wrappers, tins, plastics, and shopping bags which had been dumped by visitors on the trail.

Naqvi said that the IMC is actively working to enhance the beauty of the federal capital apart from improving the state of cleanliness.
