The chief minister said that the provincial government will make all-out efforts to provide relief to the people. “The setting up of kissan platforms in 31 vegetable markets will provide ease to the citizens.”
He added that farmers are selling their produce directly at the kissan platforms. “Land has been provided free of cost to the farmers for selling their output directly in the market.”
The CM explained that kissan platforms have been established in four vegetable markets of Lahore including Badami Bagh, Singhpura, Multan Road and Kahna.
Similarly, the facility of kissan platforms has been provided in vegetable markets of other cities as well including Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, DG Khan, Sargodha, Multan, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Sadiqabad, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, Burewala, Muzaffargarh, Sialkot, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Bakhar, Pakpattan, Okara, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Chichawatni and Talagang, he elaborated. The chief minister maintained that people are getting vegetables at reasonable rates due to this initiative of the government. He further said that the provincial government will ensure that the rights of the citizens are protected under any circumstance. “Price hike and artificial increase in the rates of vegetables, fruits and pulses will not be tolerated.”
Separately, the chief minister has termed the approval of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund Act 2019 2019 by the Punjab assembly as a historic step. He said that the implementation of the act will improve the living standard of industrial workers. “From now on collection of taxes under the head of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund will be the responsibility of the provincial government”. He added that providing relief to the industrial workers will be the responsibility of the provincial government as well. “Punjab Revenue Authority will collect Punjab Workers Welfare Fund at provincial level. The genuine rights of industrial workers will be given to them on priority basis.”
