After two years, nude parading suspect held
Sajawal Khan surrendered himself to DI Khan police
DI KHAN:
Police in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday arrested Sajawal Khan, the main accused in a case of parading a woman naked in a local village two years ago. His arrest, though, came about after he surrendered himself.
On October 27, 2017, around a dozen armed men had broken into the home of a local woman, stripped her naked and paraded her around the village over a water dispute within the remits of the Chaudwan police station.
The case caused uproar and was heard in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) which directed the police to arrest those involved. It also directed the human rights cell of the court to seek regular updates on the case.
The DI Khan police managed to arrest most of the suspects in the case and even carried out a forensic analysis of their electronic devices to trace fragments of what the victim claimed were videos of her filmed as she was stripped and then paraded.

However, the police failed to apprehend the main accused, Sajawal, who was believed to have gone into hiding or had fled the country. The police conducted several raids to arrest him in the district and even as far as locations in Punjab and Karachi.
In the last hearing of the case, the PHC directed the DI Khan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Captain (retired) Feroz Shah and DI Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Derawar Bangash to immediately arrest the suspect.
DI Khan police on Friday said that Sajawal voluntarily appeared before DPO Bangash and surrendered.
