Revival of MMA delayed
LAHORE:
The talks for the revival of the Muttahida Majlis e Amal concluded without success in Lahore on Sunday.
The meeting between religious parties was hosted by Markaz e Ahle e Hadees chief Professor Sajjid Mir, and discussed the war on terror, Kashmir dispute and Pakistan's water dispute with Kashmir. The meeting ended with the decision of negotiations continuing in the future.
Commenting on the talks, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that if given the choice, his party would choose MMA over PPP. While Jamat-e-Islami Chief Munawar Hasan denied that the MMA was not being revived.
The next meeting is to be held in Islamabad on July 22 and will be hosted by Islamic Tehreek Chairperson Allama Sajid Naqvi.
