Rs140m spent on 211 education dept schemes

Rs4.52 million have been utilised on 73 schemes for the provision of missing facilities

SARGODHA: The provincial government has spent Rs140 million on 211 development schemes of the Education Department in the district for one year.

According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority (DEA) Riaz Qadeer Bhatti, under Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes, Rs108.9 million have been spent on 36 schemes of the school and Rs5.6 million for up-gradation of two schools.

Country lagging behind in R&D activities

He said that Rs4.52 million have been utilised on 73 schemes for the provision of missing facilities and the installation of security systems in the schools. He added that Rs1.03 million have been utilised for construction of three school buildings, Rs21.7 million were spent on 48 schemes for construction of dilapidated buildings.

A total of Rs7,848,000 were spent on 24 schemes for the provision of computers and the establishment of laboratories in Secondary and Higher Secondary schools.
