‘Tent village to accommodate 10,000 pilgrims’

A one-day pass would be issued to as many as 5,000 Sikh pilgrims coming from India, says project director

NAROWAL: Frontier Works Organization (FWO) Project Director Atif Majeed stated that a tent village had been established at the newly built Kartarpur Corridor Complex to accommodate more than 10,000 Sikh Yatrees arriving from different parts of the world to visit Gurdwara Baba Guru Nanak.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he said, “A nine-marque village, fully equipped with all facilities, has been set up to accommodate Sikh yatrees arriving Pakistan”. Further, the langar khana established inside the complex has the capacity to house around 2,500 pilgrims, he said.

The project director said that a one-day pass would be issued to as many as 5,000 Sikh pilgrims coming from India, who would get two coupons after paying $20 per head as an entry for their visit.

For the purpose, the Federal Investigation Agency has established its counters for the biometric registration of pilgrims, he added. He maintained that a museum had also been set up at the complex where pictures of Sikh community's religious leaders were on display.
