CM Buzdar irked over slow work on zoo

Action will be taken against officials involved in delaying the project on purpose, says CM

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed officials to complete the construction of the zoo in Taunsa Sharif without further delay.

The chief minister said the progress report should be compiled by monitoring construction work on a daily basis. The zoo is being constructed on 400 kanals and the total cost of the project will be Rs124.2 million. “Action will be taken against officials involved in delaying the project on purpose. The completion of the project will provide quality entertainment to people,” he said.

Tunsa Assistant Commissioner Naveed Hussain said a hatchery has been constructed at the zoo, while the construction of the officers’ block, residential quarters of employees of Grade 1 to 17, a canteen, a ticketing booth, a monkey house and an aviary is underway. The toilets’ flooring work is also in progress and the construction of the deer house is almost done, he said. The commissioner added the fencing around the animal enclosure will be completed soon. “The project will be completed with the available funds.”

Chief Minister Buzdar also announced a Rs55 billion development package for Dera Ghazi Khan.
