A large number of police stations across Punjab are situated in rented buildings

Punjab Police will be spending millions of rupees on the renovation and repair work of important buildings across the province.
Funds have been allocated for horse stables, police stations, offices and police line of Lahore Police, Qurban Lines Lahore, buildings of Police College Sihala, police station buildings of Sahiwal and a model station of Baghdadul Jadeed in Bahawalpur.
Lack or poor infrastructure is one of the many challenges often complained by the police officers. A large number of police stations across Punjab are situated in rented buildings and many of them these buildings are in dilapidated condition.
Police to establish health centres, counters for public
Police high ups and government allocate a certain amount of budget every year both for repair, maintenance and the construction of a new building to cover the infrastructure gap. District Police Sahiwal will spend an estimated amount of around Rs2 million for the renovation of police station buildings.
The amount will also be used to purchase photocopy machines, air conditioners, generator, fax machines, electric water cooler and UPS stabilizers for official use. The amount will also be used for the repair and maintenance of machinery.
Court seeks comments on illegal police station
Lahore Police is a force of at least 35,000 officials and has many squads working for the investigation, operation and security to patrolling wings. It has a squad of mounted force.
Lahore Police are planning to update and renovate the horse stable used by the mounted force. There are at least 84 police stations in Lahore and dozens of offices. A few are in dilapidated condition and need repair and maintenance on an immediate basis.
