At the end of Thomas Drew's stint as British High Commissioner, the diplomat took to Twitter on Monday to reminisce his four ‘wonderful years’ in Pakistan.

"That’s it. Waiting at Islamabad airport at the end of four wonderful years in Pakistan. Here, though, is a photo of a happy moment - in the mountains of the North earlier this year," the outgoing envoy said.

The British envoy is credited with having successfully organised the royal visit of Prince William and Kate Middleton from October 14 to 18 which had been deemed the ‘most complex’ tour ever undertaken by the duke and duchess of Cambridge by Kensington Palace.

While earlier on October 26, the British diplomat had thanked the prime minister for taking out the time to say goodbye to him.

"Thanks to PM Imran I have always enjoyed here. My very best wishes for the future to him and the country he leads," he said.
