SC demands DNA reports of those killed in Lal Masjid operation

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court demanded on Tuesday that the DNA reports of those killed in the Lal Masjid operation be submitted in one week.

During the hearing, the commission for missing persons presented its report to the bench. According to the report, the commission has sorted 108 since March 15 this year.


83 missing persons have been recovered, while documents of five people were found to be incorrect.


The Interior Ministry also filed a report in the Supreme Court on the recovery of four missing persons.


Justice Javed Iqbal criticised the of Foreign Office's role, saying the authorities are not doing anything for the release of several Pakistanis imprisoned in foreign jails.


The hearing has now been adjourned for two weeks.
