‘Public meetings to ensure speedy disposal of complaints’

DIG Operations directs SHOs to listen to people’s problems regularly

LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General of Police Lahore Ashfaq Khan held a public gathering at his office separately and listened to the problems of the citizens.

The citizens raised various issues on which DIG Operations issued orders for the resolution of their genuine grievances to the concerned Police officers on the spot.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Operations Ashfaq Khan said the public meetings were aimed to ensure direct access of the complainants to the senior Police officers so that citizens can more openly and confidently express their grievances. He said problems of the complainants would be solved at priority basis and provision of justice will be ensured without any discrimination.

He said SHOs have been also directed to ensure listening to the problems of citizens on a regular basis daily from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

He further said that maintenance of law and order and security of life and property of the citizens was the top priority of Lahore Police.

“All possible resources are being utilised for the elimination of crime in the city,” he remarked. He assured the complainants that Police will put all its efforts for resolving their issues. He said that police officers and officials have been directed to cooperate with the citizens and behave in a friendly and polite manner to solve their problems.
