SC rejects review petition in Rind disqualification case

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the review petitions in Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind’s disqualification case.

A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan heard the review petitions filed by Taj Muhammad Raisani, Ghulam Haider and Asim Kurd. During the course of proceedings, the counsel for the petitioners said that Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind has admitted in the past that he has fabricated a fake degree and this point was not reviewed by the court.

Hearing of Rind’s disqualification case adjourned

Justice Umar Ata Bandial told the council that he was talking about old things and remarked that the review petitions were not maintainable.

Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court in Quetta granted exemption from appearance to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial president Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind in Mir Nawaz Jatoi murder case.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Muneer Marri heard the case as Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind’s son Sardarzada Khan Muhammad Rind did not appear before the court and filed an application for exemption from court proceedings for the day, which was accepted.


Two witnesses appeared in the court and recorded their statements related to the case.

Later, the court adjourned the proceedings till October 21.

PTI Balochistan head and Member Provincial Assembly Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and his son Sardarzada Khan Muhammad Rind are nominated in the murder of tribal leader Mir Nawaz Jatoi.

Meanwhile, the additional sessions court adjourned the hearing of kidnapping case without any proceedings against provincial minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and his son till October 16 as the defence counsel sought exemption from appearance for his clients, while no witness appeared to record their statements.
