QUETTA: Lauding the support of tribal people in the fight against terrorism, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant-General Waseem Ashraf on Wednesday said the continuous support of the people of the bordering areas of Pakistan, Afghanistan would help in ending the scourge from society.

“People of Pakistan-Afghanistan bordering areas are very patriotic and they have remained supportive to the security forces,” the commander said during a visit to the border city of Chaman where he met with tribal elders of Chaman and Qilla Abdullah districts.

Ashraf was accompanied by Frontier Corps IG Major General Fayaz Hussain. They also visited the friendship gate and had a meeting with soldiers.

“I have been visiting the bordering town to hear the issues of tribal elders and public representatives,” said Lt-Gen Ashraf.
