When asked who he thinks is a good performer and has a bright future in the industry, he replied, “There isn’t one.”
“The thing is all these new actors are actually models. They are all show pieces. They don’t know how to act; they don’t have the wisdom,” he added.
Veteran actor #FirdousJamal undermines the entire younger industry actors and actresses even running stellar actor #ImranAshraf under the bus, saying the role of #Bhola wasn't a spontaneous one. Sir, with due respect we beg to differ. His acting was anything but pretentious 🙏 pic.twitter.com/SYUx46CGBe

Talking about Ashraf as his character Bhola, for which the former garnered critical acclaim, Jamal added, "The character Imran did wasn’t spontaneous though. It was all pretension. How can I explain spontaneity in acting lingo? It is different from pretension and acting. Imran has acted. This role was previously done by a lot of other actors too. They just didn’t act it – they behaved it.”
And now, the Ranjha Ranjha Kardi star has responded to Jamal's criticism in the most humble way.

"Firdous sahab is a very respectable and brilliant actor. He would have done a far better job of donning the role of Bhola than I ever would have. I respect him and his opinion," the actor said. "My humble request to every one, my friends and my followers, I didn't mind his comments at all. I will try to learn more. Kindly, do not make harsh comments on him. When our elders say something to us at home, it's not necessary to take it badly."
Hamza Firdous, son of the veteran actor, also took to social media to praise Ashraf and shared, "Imran Ashraf, you are one of the the best actors among this generation. I learn and get inspired with every performance of yours."

He added, "You have asked a much needed question from this industry: why can't a character be the hero of a drama? This should be the case and your Bhola did that for us. So thank you! And one last bit, Bhola is not only yours - he is ours."
