QUETTA: Provincial Hepatitis Control Programme has failed in providing medicines to patients in remote areas of Khuzdar due to transport issues. Khuzdar District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Doctor Nazeer Umrani said, “Lack of transport facilities are the barriers in the delivery of the vaccines to remote areas of Khuzdar including Sarona, Kunjar, Mola, Karkh and Gaj.” However, he claimed that the urban areas have received full supply of the vaccine and the available supply for the remote areas is 42,000.  Balochistan Hepatitis Control Programme is providing the vaccine across the province to prevent the spread of the disease. The number of patients diagnosed with the Hepatitis is on the rise in the province but the expensive vaccine is out of the reach of underprivileged people in the faraway areas of Khuzdar.
