KRL crushed Muslim FC 4-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) while defending champions Wapda won their first match of the tournament, defeating Pel 2-0 in Quetta.
Zakir Afridi scored the opening goal of the match in the 43rd minute as KRL led 1-0 at the interval before increasing the lead against the PPFL new-entrants in the 54th minute. Tariq Lutfi’s team continued to dominate, with Mehmood Khan scoring a brace in the 75th and 88th minutes to seal victory.
KRL have won all their three matches so far while Wapda have been victorious once and lost 1-0 to Afghan FC in their first match and played out a goal-less draw against Baloch FC.
Zulfiqar Ali scored the first goal in the 36th minute as Wapda led 1-0 at half-time and striker Khuda Bukhsh ensured victory with his goal in the 74th minute.
Meanwhile, KESC drew their match 1-1 against PAF in Karachi. KESC took the lead when Mohammad Rasool scored in the 20th minute, but the team faced a setback when the referee awarded a penalty kick to PAF for a foul in the 36th minute. KESC had defeated Pakistan Army in their first match last week.
