According to ECP, voter awareness campaigns will be launched in all the districts of the country next month

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday announced the start of its preparations for the local bodies elections across the country and directed the provincial election commissioners to update the voter lists.
According to the ECP, voter awareness campaigns will be launched in all the districts of the country next month. Display centres would be set up for this purpose, while the initial updated voter lists would be published in November.
ECP to hold by-elections on NA-259 seat
The ECP has clarified that a new voter can only be registered on the basis of permanent or temporary address mentioned in the computerised national identity card. The voter can be registered before the issuance of election schedule.
At present there are 109 million voters registered in the country. According to some estimates, the number would increase to 113 million voters.
