ECP will hold by-elections for 29 polling stations

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold by-elections for 29 polling stations of NA-259 constituency representing Dera Bugti on November 17.

The ECP has said the re-elections are being held in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court. The Election Commission has released the schedule for re-election for 29 polling stations representing NA-259 constituency of Dera Bugti.

As per the ECP schedule, the polls would begin at 8am and will go uninterrupted until 5pm on November 17. ECP officials Imran Ahmed and Saifuddin have been delegated the responsibility to serve as district returning officer (DRO) and returning officer (RO) for the by-polls.

Election results for the said constituency were challenged at the top court on grounds of irregularities.

NA-259 seat was earlier won by Jamhori Watan Party (JWP) leader Shah Zain Bugti.

The polling results were challenged by Tariq Muhammad Kheetran at the Supreme Court.
