As calls for action and justice grow louder over the latest case of abduction and murders of minors in Punjab's Kasur district, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that "those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task."

The bodies of three minor boys were discovered from an industrial area in Chunian tehsil on September 17.

One of the boys was kidnapped two days ago, while the other two were kidnapped two months ago. Another child remains missing.

The provincial home department on September 18 formed a joint investigation team (JIT) after the bodies of three boys were found in Chunian tehsil.

On Wednesday, crowds in the area blocked roads and burned tyres after the boys' deaths were confirmed. The local police station was surrounded and pelted with stones.

Referring to the tragic incident, PM Imran in a tweet last night said the Punjab government was taking actions in this regard and “there will be accountability for all.”
