Says the issue is emanating from reduced supply from the gas fields

KARACHI:
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has denied rumours that a low gas pressure situation has developed over the past several days which has impacted the supply of gas.

According to SSGC, the overall supply has been affected twice in the past five days due to reduced supply from two gas fields, namely Kunar Pasakhi Deep and Naimat Basal fields due to technical reasons. The Kunar Pasakhi field tripped on September 14 reducing supply to SSGC from the usual 200 MMCFD to 140 MMCFD. Then on September 17, the Naimat Basal field also tripped and maintained zero supply for three hours which caused it to reduce gas supply to SSGC from 285 MMCFD to 240 MMCFD daily averages which in turn affected the system pressures. The company managed the load by shutting off supplies to the CNG sector as per the load management plan for another 12 hours which improved supply. SSGC claims that the issue is emanating from the supply side.
