Addressing a news conference in Quetta Press Club, President PMA Dr Kaleemullah Mandokhail, representatives of Pharmacists Association, Paramedical Staff Association, Young Nursing Association, Baloch Doctors Forum, Malgari Doctran and Physiotherapy Association announced to set a sit-in at Edhi Chowk from September 19 against the provincial government,
“People from medical professions are facing immense problems for the past many years and despite meeting with government’s representatives, no seriousness has been shown towards our issues,” health workers said in a joint news conference.

“In order to halt our doctors’ promotions, ACR was being handled by provincial bureaucracy. It should be handed over to the provincial health department.”
Health workers also demanded 600 new posts for unemployed pharmacists on an immediate basis.
Speaking at the news conference, representative of Physiotherapy Association urged that new vacancies of physiotherapists should be announced and senior doctors should be appointed as director generals’ health in government hospitals.
“We have submitted 20 demands and we will start a movement for our rights if the provincial government doesn’t start any implementation till September 19,” they asserted.
Replying to a query regarding the suspension of services in government hospitals, health workers said that they would continue providing services during the protests but strive to seek the attention of the provincial government towards presented demands will also carry on.
