A young housemaid's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in Civil Lines on Wednesday night.
The incident took place in Syed Ali Shah Jamote's house. S, 20, had been working at the Jamote residence for the past two years.
The Cantt police have so far neither implicated anyone from the Jamote family nor from among the other domestic help at the house. Cantt SHO Imtiaz Baloch told The Express Tribune that the police is conducting an investigation under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code to ascertain the cause of death. "After the post-mortem report [comes], we can ascertain whether it was suicide or a murder," he added. Her body was handed over to her relatives, after the post-mortem.

Just a word of advice- do NOT believe everything written as, unfortunately, it is NOT the Gospel!!!! oh and you're right...DISGUST is what i felt when I read comments written by people who haven't bothered to research, instead they feel they MUST comment on everything! Actually this took place in the house across the street from Jamote house and has nothing to do with the Jamote Family, I have personally stayed at 17 Civil Lines several times over the last 28 years, and there are not and never have been any female domestic staff working their except the ones who come with the Ladies of the Jamote family when they are visiting Hyderabad. I highly recommend that facts be reconfirmed before publishing such news items.
Well I wouldnt be surprised if this is a murder. You can see the name of the person in whose house the incident took place. Their sons are usually in the habit of harrassing or raping maids etc. and eventually kill them if she tries to tell someone.. Disgusting.
